Hotel Desiree Procchio

he Hotel Désirée, established in 1957  and recently refurbished, is on the enchanting and exclusive Bay of  Spartaia and has direct access to a private sandy beach with a stunning backdrop of Mediterranean greenery, in a seven-hectare private park. 

Spend a relaxing day beside the pool and enjoy a refreshing  Summer Cocktail and a luxurious snack which will be served directly to your sun lounger in the exclusive Mediterranean Oasis. It is possible to organise swimming lessons for adults and children with authorized Italian Swimming Federation instructors.   

A tiny gem which can be seen from the provincial road for Marciana Marina, Spartaia is on a small bay on the larger Procchio Gulf. The sandy beach, surrounded by green Mediterranean scrub, runs down to the turquoise and emerald-green sea. The name comes from the Sparto plant which grows on the dunes and on the edges of the sandy beach. The Hotel provides you with a private cabin, beach umbrellas and deckchairs for your comfort.

The gym takes on a new dimension in a unique corner lost in greenery. It has weights, cyclette, and a treadmill and you can freshen up in the nearby sea-water swimming pool.

It has Classic (garden or mountain view), Superior (sea view) and Deluxe rooms all equipped with every modern comfort to assure you a pleasant stay.

Don Carlos Restaurant

Our Chef Giuseppe Brescia and his team in the Don Carlos Restaurant will delight you with typical Italian and Tuscan specialities.  Some of them have been chosen for their low-cal content and others for vegetarians and coeliacs. And of course there is a mouth-watering dessert trolley which has been prepared by our creative pastry chef. There is also a kid’s menu with colourful and amusing dishes to satisfy our smaller guests. Open from 19.30 to 21.30.

What better place to start the day than in our breakfast room with its splendid views of the Bay of Spartaia and magnificent breakfast buffet with hot and cold Italian specialities. 

Beach Bar

At lunchtime our menu includes many tasty salads, pizzas, fresh custom-made sandwiches, special pasta dishes and a baby menu  for our smaller guests.  Our complete and delicious lunchtime menu will surprise and delight you. The best place for a fast and easy snack or drink is the Beach Bar and it means you don’t even have to leave the beach. Ice-creams, cocktails and after-dinner drinks can be enjoyed beside the swimming pool or in the relaxing area under the olive trees. 

Juicy Bar

This bar is also on the beach and serves a selection of smoothies, frappés and cut fresh fruit, all prepared on the spot.  The menu lists the calorie-count and the energy content and properties of the products used.

Information sur les transports

The Hotel Désirée is 12 kilometres from Portoferraio, one kilometre from Procchio, seven kilometres from Marciana Marina and five kilometres from Marina di Campo.

Its position in the centre of the island makes it easy and fast to reach from all the most important locations. And the airport is only four kilometres away.

When you get to Portoferraio follow the signs for Procchio. Keep going towards Marciana Marina and after one kilometre turn right for Spartaia.
